“Make It Happen.”

It’s a motto chosen for it’s simplicity and summarizes the artist’s view on life. Adversity rarely calls on the prepared, so when it does all you can do is make something happen

Hello All! My name is Dontaiz Rouse. I’ve created this website to curate all my various projects and to better connect with those who are interested in my process. I’m formally trained in the engineering discipline of civil technology but I have always had a passion for crafting from the moment I figured out I could repurpose everyday trash into something beautiful.

I started my life in Cordele, GA but quickly moved to the Columbus, GA area. There I attended the local magnet programs, after school art programs, choir, music groups, and engineering programs. There I learned to sing, draw, compose, wire electrical circuits, and even use AutoCAD for the first time. I later moved to Albany, GA where I found new purpose in my engineering background. There I found out my next step in life would be Savannah, GA where I attended and graduated from Savannah State University with a Civil Engineering Technology Degree. Currently I work in the Construction Estimating field in Long Island, NY.

I may be an engineer in the day time but the real passion lays with what I’ve cultivated all through these years: my creative spirit. As a person you are the sum total of your experiences, and I can say that there is no better teacher than that same experience. So whether it’s baking, sewing, 3D printing, shoe customizing, or costume making; the best way to learn is to hop in the deep in. Lets make something cool.
